anybody else think it would be nice to have threads on tracks they've been to or want to go to. other peoples opinions of how a track rides or anything like that? i'd definetily like to be able to see what other people thought of a rack before i went there. thanks

Great idea, I second the motion.

1st post, 41 in N.W. Indiana is a joke. Manager is in way over his head.
Great at running a kids nite for 1 night a month, the rest, what a joke.
Prep, never consistant, safety, worse track I've ever seen, programs & class' worse run I've ever seen. The grounds are rotten, dirt, rocks, pot holes.

66 in Joliet, great great prep. Great great safety guys. Long *** lines. Fast guys are always mad at slow guys, slow guys are always mad at slicks guys. Slicks guys are always mad at fast guys. Lots and lots of wasted time, don't move the cars like everyone else, bring a snack to the lanes, you will need it.

Should I go on???

I've been around the block and given my age I will go around it several more times.

I've been to a good 13 tracks and I've seen some unique ones. Weekly I run a small little track that's 4 miles from my house, everyone there is great... It's not the nicest facilities or the nicest track surface but I enjoy it. I see some crazy things (no tech), seen a guy with a plexiglass window have it come in on him. Deers crossing the track, terrible fog (had to open my door to see that I wasn't near the grass). The great thing there is they will give you your tech card back if your car breaks in time runs and the owner always lets us make runs at the end of the night (I got to bracket race my dad one night).

Anyone been to Salem in northeast Ohio? That's crazy, it's got a burnout box uphill and you have to climb a freaking mountain just to get there. Then at about 1,000 ft. the track goes uphill again.

Kanawha Valley in West Virginia has a short *** track. It's 1/8 mile and people still have trouble stopping, I saw a top sportsman car go off the end more than once.

I really liked US 131 in Martin, Michigan. I've been to Indy and Norwalk but I liked it the best.

i've ran at heartland park topeka. fun track its 15 20 minutes from my house. anybody who has the chance to run here let me know. we just got the SCCA world headquarters here in topeka so we're gettin a new SCCA track. but back to the 1/4 mile. its a blast decent tech support. they dont usually check ur car the second time if you dont pass the first tech. tons of shut down area. only downfall is the pit road at the end of the track is a lil rough.

haha yeah I've been on some crazy return roads. At Clay City in central Kentucky it feels like you're in a freaking SCCA race just trying to get to the tech both. I couldn't take off my helmet/gloves/neck collar until I got back to the trailer because it was like I was racing at Watkins Glen

How about Marion South Dakota - where????? Only have a 35 mile haul to the track. A small track, facilities aren't the greatest, but the parties are great on Saturday nights . Traction has been great the last 2 years, and then the owner goes and lets the manager leave. People are friendly. Out in the middle of a corn field. Full racing program. Even the sport compacts have a night of their own. In the spring you can have it snow, hail, and rain all within an hour. During the summer the bugs gets so bad at times they will cover your car in the staging lanes. Of yea and than the great cotton trees and their fury **** that gets all over everything. BUT still overall a very nice little track to call home for the weekend.

Been to a few other Cordova Dragway, Cordova IL (nice track 3 years ago), Nebraska Motorplex, Scribner NE (closed - was a nice enough track for an airport); but, best track to date: No-problem, Belle Rose, LA. Great track !!

David
