Default 275/50/15s or 325/50/15s?

I just bought the car in the sig from another forum member.
The car has everything listed in the sig and is going in for a full tune, larger injectors, and a rearend swap this week. I'm having the 2.73 rear swapped for a 3.42 rearend for the time being due to financial reasons.
I plan on dropping weight out of the car and hopefully getting it down to around 3150-3200 lbs without me in it. I'm not sure what the car will make powerwise, I'm guessing around 420~rwhp. I plan on doing a nx wetkit nitrous setup by this fall and will spray 100-150 on it.
I'm throwing together a draglite combo for the track. Found some front draglites a few weeks ago and ordered some kuhmo 165/85 radials (25.5" diameter) from tirerack to run up front and some 15x10 draglites for the rear. I'm trying to decide what tire to run out of these two. I was originally wanting to run the monster 325s based on looks and better 60'...but I wasn't sure if I had the gear/convertor to support them on the motor. On the bottle I'm guessing it will be ok...but I want this thing to run hard on the motor for sure though. Would the 325s make it fall on its face at the top end by not being as high up in the revs due to the 3.42s? Would the 275/50s be better for my current app? Any thoughts?

i dont think you have enough gear with a 28" tire at that power level. i wouldnt worry about the big end, its the launch where that gears is going to kill you. what are your goals for the car?

For that setup I'd stay with the 26" tall tire.

Traction shouldn't be an issue on either tire. The main reason I went to the 325's from the 275's is I needed the tire height, and 275/60's look narrow on my car. I'm trying to hook over 700 RWHP so I figure I need all the tire I can fit.

When my car was making around 430 rwhp it was faster on the 275/50's than the 325's because of the weight and tire diameter.

Yeah I figured go with the 275/50s now and step up to the 325s down the road. Thanks guys...

Well I plan on dropping as much weight as I can for now while keeping the car streetable, along with some suspension stuff during this season. The car has no suspension goodies on it now and I'm having that rearend swapped next week, I'm going to throw on some BMR lca's (non adj off a friends car), some cheapo comp eng. adj drag shocks (stocks are shot), and have them take off the front sway bar while it's up on the lift. I wanna go with a full qa1 setup eventually, just ran outta money for now with all this pidly crap I'm having to do with this car to get it track ready. Do you guys think some v6 springs in the rear will help my cause while keeping the front stock? And there's no budget style 90/10 struts available for the front of our cars is there? Been looking and havent seen anything...

As far as times go I'd like to drop enough weight and get it hooking well enough on the motor to sneak into the 10s, but I'm not real sure about that with this 3500 convertor. May have to step up to a 4000+, but I want to spray on it so the convertor selection may be tricky. I wanna spray 100-150 to get deep into the 10s.

In a year or 2 I'd like to throw a blower grind in the car, go with a D1 or F1 blower setup, and a 12 bolt. This tranny in the car is built with good parts so I'll run it until it breaks. Once it's seen enough I'll do a th-350 or 400 swap. But this is a ways down the road...

he will get better traction with the taller tire though because of the larger foot print
