Crotch bar diameter Car is going in to get caged on Saturday.
My guy is fabing up the crotch bars for the harnesses and needs to know what diameter tubing I want for them.
Anyone know what the rules are on them or what diameter they are?
Half inch maybe?
Costing me almost nothing to have them done

Does the crotch strap have to be attached to the floor, or can you attach it to the seat say? I had my guy fab up soem brackets and mounted my kirkey seats solid to the car, he suggested just attaching the crotch strap to the seat with round headed bolt.... is that o.k. to do or do they have to be attached to something else?
I used flat steel and drilled a hole in the center for the bolt bracket that is at the end of the harness itself and then mocked up the holes on the ends so they lined up with the stock studs for the front of the seat..... sandwiched that piece of steel underneath the stock seat brackets going across the carpet and it worked fine..... never had anyone say anything about it at tech... cost was like 5 bucks.....
