Default How fast did you start at?

Just wondering what kind of power and times everyone started at? I know people say it takes time to learn how to drive a car. Just wondering if people started out slow and worked up? Or about the people who just jumped into a 11 or 10 sec car. The fastest car I've ever driven was a freakin 15s Stang. And now I'm looking into getting another car. Just seeing if it is suggested to just jump right into my goal area or build my way up to it.

I firmly believe you will appreciate the car a whole lot more if you start from the bottom and work your way up. Plus, I never trust a used car that has been modded in any way, just due to the fact that I don't know how the previous owner used the vehicle, or how that mod was installed, or for that matter, what other things they may have screwed around with.

But to answer your question, my car with exhaust and a cai (94 Z28 A4, 3.23) on street tires ran a 14.3 @ 97 on street tires spinning through 1st gear.

Back in highschool I think the first time I had my LT1 Formula out I was running low 15s. That eventually went high 13s with pretty much the same setup and then low 13s with bolt ons. (Driver error haha) Now I am running 11s in my new Formula.

First car I raced was a 1968 442 Olds that went 14.80@ 101mph in about 1978 or 79. It taught me the basics about staging and that spinning bias ply tires was easy!

Ran jr dragsters for a long time. even ran headsup jr stuff that ran 4.30's in the 330'. learned all the basics in that. The day i turned 16 i took my daily driving truck to the track. It ran 9.70's in the 1/8th. Finished the nova about 7 months after being 16 and ran 10.30's. Then stepped it up to 9.50's. At age 18 I was running ihra top sportsman going 7.50's at a little over 180

first vehicle was a stock 4.0L V6 Ranger that went 16.75. Then with just a gear change that I went to 16.1

Jeep Grand Cherokee went from 16s to 15 flat.

Camaro started at 12.7 @ 114 but that was with a crappy tire out back. Now I should be in the low 11s with the new clutch and ET Streets. I bought my car modded but I have known the car since 2003 and I know the 2 people that modded the car some. They both work for LGM.
