Default Need LSX help

Have a Iron 408 about to ship to me. Forged bottom end, AFR 225's that now are 68CC's not 72CC's. On a .040 cometic head gasket the CR was 11.8.

Motor will have a ported Edelbrock single plain intake and I am going to see if there is any room for improvement on the heads. I hear the AFR valves are not the best...

It will be a N20 car, on a DP 300 shot.

Here are my questions. The engine only has 4k miles on it, internals look GREAT. Only hit with a 100 shot a few times.
It has the eagle H beams but has the regular ARP rod bolts in it. Not the 2,000's that up the HP by a lot.
Do I need to worry about the rod bolt holes being out of round or should the be ok for swaping?
Would this make me have to re blance the bottom end?

What kind of cam numbers am I looking at for a N20 car thats an all out drag car but thats driven on the street from time to time? I don't care about streetability as long as it can be driven.
In the end I will get a custom grind for my set up I am just trying to get a ball park idea.

On the cam this guy had threw a 6 speed and a ported FAST intake in put down 547rwhp (A/F was a little off). My car is getting a Neil Chance stall and TH-400 along with the Edelbrock. If I remeber right that cam was in the 640 range on the lift.
Patrick G did his cam and said that he could go a little larger for all out race and get more out of it but this guy is building a 427 now.

I am thinking that 560-570rwhp on the motor threw the TH-400 on the larger cam and the intake should be do able fairly easy???? Or more???

Whats the limits of the LS1 PCM? Do I really just need to go FAST?

Will have KOOKS headers, duals going into Bolra XR-1's.

Tranny has a break, will have a full spool in the 9 inch, all WOLFE and MADMAN parts, mini tubed and narrowed rear. Hooking will NOT be an issue
About to start tearing into the car in the next few weeks.

IMO your rod bolts should be fine. BUT it would depend on who you bought it from. It never hurts to have it checked out by a good machine shop first. Used is still used, no matter how many times it was run. For a no worry engine, have it checked out before you install it.

On the cam. If Patrick G spec'd out the present cam, PM him and see what he was talking about going bigger.

IMO your problem will be lifting the heads on a 300 shot. Progressive controller? With more nitrous you can look into getting larger head bolts installed.

Looks like the rest of your set-up has been well thought out.

There is a local shop that does nothing but high HP motors, N/A, N20, Blower/Turbo. I am going to have them pull it apart and check it out. They do VERY good work.

The short block is coming with ARP head bolts. I was thinking about selling them for studs but forgot about the larger head studs you can get.

I will go that route for sure. Was thinking about a progressive for sure.

Going to have Nasty N8 do the fuel side of things.

Just sent Patrick G a PM.

9's on the motor would be nice..... but something tells me on a N20 tune with a N20 stall, maybe even a N20 cam (have been told to get the cam specd for N20 at or above a 300 shot but we will see what Patrick G says) it will not happen or be hard to but will scream on the bottle.

I talked to Patrick G (super fast reply and on the WEEKEND!).

He said
Cam recommendation: (408 strip cam)
24X/25X .65X/.66X” 110LSA +2 advance
Comp Cams LSK/LSK lobes

Its in the range I was thinking it would be at. Did not give the full specs because I don't know how picky some people are on having stuff posted.

Previous cam I think was in the .64X range on the lift and a little smaller on the duration maybe.
