Default is my converter off

im runing a 28in tire with 4.30 rear gears i trap @ 127 but im turning 7500 across the line... when u do the gear calcualtor 7500 should be 145 this is really killing my et. its like the converter is sliped way to much on the top end.
Also i can get the car to 5700on the trans brake i was told that this is like a 6k stall insted of the 5200 it should be....

There are lots of variables in picking the right converter, what will work for one car might not work for another cars set-up.
It's a good idea to have a converter custom made for your set-up. Here is a info sheet with questions that they like to know before making you a custom converter......

As you can see they ask alot of detailed questions about your set-up. In the end you get a converter thats suited to your set-up and performs like you want it too.

yes i no the hole deal i did thsi with John from Fuddel and it seems like the converter is off i waiting to hear back from him

I had this problem with TCI. I gave them my specs, and they sent me what was supposed to be a 4500 converter. It flashed to 5800. I sent it back after burning the lockup clutch in it, and they sent me back a 4000 so it would be tighter. This one flashed to 5000 this morning on the dyno. It seems majority of the converters flash a lot higher than they are spec'd out to be.

I went with Neal Chance. They spent about a 1/2 hour on the phone with me going over my set up. My best 60' went from a 1.40 to a 1.32 with the converter swap.
Converter set up is huge, if it's off it'll really affect your times.
Does your converter lock up? I would think that a solid roller with 28"s might want to run a steeper gear than 4:30's with a lock up.

Question

Run the calcs on converter slip %. May scare you...
I just ran 2 scenarios:
1. Using the info you posted, the slip calculates to be 14.4%.
2. Using the proposed mph of 145, the slip shows to be .24%

I don't think the differences are realistic. You can get a converter that will slip alot less than 14%. But, never get it to .24%, unless it's a lockup....

yea the converter is off alot....hopefully fuddel will awnser there phones tomorrow so i can get another one on the way asap. if not i will be calling YANK

really...i think alot of companies send you a converter they want to....go with yank

i went from fuddle 3200 stall and 3.73 cutting 1.60 60; on motor
to yank 3600 and 3.42 cutting 1.60 on motor still and it feels alot tigher even with the 3.42
more mph also...i just didnt like yanks customer service...semmed as if they wanted me off the fone all 3 times i called
