what are some easy and cheap bolt ons i can do to get close to the 11's. at the same time i still want it to be a good daily driver for the streets. thanks guys
alright thanks..i got some of those mods already...how much does a cam cost and would a mild one get the job done?
cam is approx $300-400.....its all the supporting valvetrain mods that cost the money. valvesprings, pushrods, lifters, etc.. then i dont know if you're gonna do the install yourself or not, but that can cost a pretty penny also. a mild cam could do just fine
what about a cam? how much would a mild one cost and how much is installation on one of those? would i have to get anything else done if i went with the cam? what are the negatives on installing one?

Depending on how big of a cam you do with, some drivability will be lost. But it sounds like you are leaning towards a smaller one anyways, so you should be fine. As far as costs, I bought a used cam (225), pushrods (100) 198 springs (~170), oil pump (130) and timing chain (30). After gaskets and such i spent right around 700 for parts on my cam. I did install myself, but i would imagine it would cost a couple hundred to have it installed. Then, after that you need ot have the car tuned, which is a few hundred more depending where you go. I had mine dyno-tuned for 275.
I would sugggest getting a torque converter first. A lot less can go wrong, and its easier to put in, and cheaper. There is nothing like hitting the gas and taking off like a freight train! A properly matched stall can drop 1/2 second, which is what you are looking for.
Yeah a stall is gonna run you about $700 + install and a cam will be in the same ballpark. Sticky tires aren't too expensive but the rear end you will need after you break the 10 bolt on them is. Probably your cheapeset bet would be a 100 shot, it should get you in the 11's on it's own. Once you hit mid 12's really nothing comes cheap anymore.
Yank SS3600 or Vig 3200 and some M/T ET Street radials. I see you have a prokit and LCA's? Do you have relocation brackets too? Cuz if you don't, you should. Your 60' times will drop to low 1.7s easily. Maybe 1.6x's.
