Do you have a lock up converter?
I agree that mph is low. what did it make on the dyno?
I know we've talked about this before, just refresh my memory

Depends on your weight. You have a 460 hp car going 10.5 at 126. If your car is close to 3000lbs than you may have a problem, BUT if your car is closer to 3300lbs, IMO you are doing very well. What's you 60' and 1/8 time/mph? Suspension?

IMO you are doing very well for a 3400lb+ car. Want to go faster? You'll need to loose some weight out of the car.

The 460 rwhp I think is great for going through a th400 and 4:30 gears. Your 1000' mph bothers me as well as your 1/4 mph. I'll bet that converter is crap. With the solid roller I would think you should be going through the traps at 8500+ rpm's no? Your car is a "little" heavy, even with the 10pt you should be able to get it down to 3200 lbs since you weigh only 140. Let's take that 200lbs and say on the some 60* night your down to 10.3 then take another 1/10th off that 60' and your down to 10.2 and add the 3 mph you're up to 129.
So you're looking at 10.2@129 and about 104 in the 1/8 (sounds like some TA I know ) with the converter as it sits.

Solid roller with that compression-car SHOULD be in the 9.9? range at least.
Shave the weight and call Neal Chance for the converter. I took .08 off my 60' and almost .2 off my ET when I put their converter in.
If you can get .2 off your ET with it, you just may get that 9.

That MPH is definitely low.. I'm sure the junk *** Fuddle converter has a lot to do with that as well as the 4.30 gears.

My car weighs around 3400lbs maybe a little more and with a 408, AFR 225s, small hydraulic NITROUS cam (246/254 .613/.613 113), half *** tuned, short shifting at 6700rpms with a 3.50 gear (28in tire) & 4500 nitrous converter and no trans brake will trap 125 every pass. Goes 102 in the 1/8th and 125 in the 1/4 with a measly 1.61 short time. I'm sure if I got the tuned nailed down for good, move the timing from 26 degrees to 29 degrees and start shifting it at 7200-7400 rpms that it would run closer to 128-129mph with ease.

I agree with David's post. Looking at what you're putting down for rwhp and the weight, the times are very much in line with the speeds. A tighter converter may get you a bit more but everything looks to be in-line to me.

I think it is very low on mph also. A buddie of mine has a 4xx solid roller w/ 11.5 compression and has went 9.70's @ 134 on pump gas. All motor. His race weight is 3350 so i would expect alot more out of your setup. He has 4.10's in the rear also. So good luck getting your bugs worked out. Charles

I was commenting on the mph and e.t. matching up, not the cubes and combo. 9.70 at 134 is a VERY efficient driveline. The NHRA break for a cage is 9.99 or 135 mph, so those are considered close to the same limiters. I have 2 friends running mid 10s at 125-126 mph and they stuff is not drag racing specific set-up (3.73 gears), but the e.t. and mph is in-line. I said there may be more on the table, but 460 rwhp with his weight and the timeslip are very close. Now, is power being lost through the converter? Maybe, but the dyno won't tell you that. Only a testing of different converters will IMHO.

Derek

I'd like to see the dyno graph and a logged run showing the shift extension. You may be over shooting the powerband or blowing through the TC.

In hot humid air (+1500 to+1600 DA) @ 3440#s I run 6.52-6.53 @ 105.0 in the 1/8 and 10.2s@131-132mph.

That's through a 4L60E,12 bolt w/3.90 gears,29.5" tire and a 4500ish stall. The altitude may also play a role if you are at good bit higher elevation.
