Default Is this overkill for a low 12 second car?

Currently I'm hooking up pretty good (1.60 60') with my 2001 formula which has QA1s on the rear, hotchkis lower control arms, random technology adjustable torque arm and m/t drag radials. The front is stock. I'm planning on getting a pair of QA1 RC7855Ps with 300 lb. springs. Is this too much? Should I remove the sway bar to see how the front travel is affected before installing the shocks?
Thanks

I think the front shocks are more critical to a good 60' then the rear shocks are.

You should have started with front QA1'a and the removal of the sway bar before you did rear shocks.

I have stock shocks and springs in the back, and QA1's with stock springs up front, with the sway bar removes I pull consistent 1.4 60's.

Rear shocks can be just as important as the front ones. If the car transfers weight but the rear doesn't "hold" it (aka bounces back up), traction will suffer. I found this out running "marginal" tracks. You seem to be on the right path.
