Default Another what will it run thread

ok, Need and Idea of what to expect from the new car so I can see If Im gonna be competitive in what classes I want to run. Heres the combo

1997 camaro
25.5 chassis
Madman chassis components
Narrowed 9'', Mini Tubbed, stock style suspension
29 x10.5 or 325 radial
3100lb race weight w/ driver (hopefully)
505ci BBC (ran consistant 6.30's in a 3900lb raceweight truck)
no sure of running a TH400 or Glide

Ok, Losing 800lbs right off, I come up with 5.50, so can I look for 5.70-5.80 realisticly or am i lossing it

BTW, ran 9.97 in the 1/4 mile in the truck if that helps

Is the car legal? Are you qualified to drive? I know you can drive, do you have license to drive 9.97 or quicker? A Camaro cuts the air better than a truck. Your weight should be close to the trucks. What tranny did he run? What class have you targeted?

I am often amazed at how good many of you guys must be. You are capable of changing engines, adding A 400 h.p. shot of nitrous or what ever and blasting down the track on the first try. I could never do that. Most of my friends that still race can't do it. I watched a friend run 7 something in his Mustang. It was his THIRD weekly trip to the same track. Last Thursday was his first full 1/4 mile trip for the year. Now he has something to build from. He has WON Ford challenges in different classes for years.

I just don't understand how it's possible but Ill be watching to see your results and good luck.

My bad you said you have a 3,100# car.

Narrowed rear tubbed - STOCK SUSP.

To me this includes axles and gears, right? That's not natural - spend somne money in this area.

A 505 is big enough to run a two speed, but? This class you're running, 1/8 mile or 1/4?

Sorry I truly want to assist you, but I've pi---- into the wind before and didn't like the results.

Please don't me bagger you. Look at the sponsors here that support this page. Call them, I think you need to put some money in the area of the rear end. Second idea try the two largest parts houses in the US. Both happen to be in Ohio. One is in Northern Ohio the other is in the middle of the state. Both support PRO Stock racing.

No, the car will be 25.5 Certified, I have a current IHRA licence. The car will be setup right, 40 spline axels, spool, CM Driveshaft, the works I just wanted to know that if I could expect that much of a gain by losing 800lbs and getting some better aerodynamics. Thanks for the help

BTW, the truck ran a TH400, but thinking of putting a Glide in the car

Why not just run it and get the number?
