Re-cert. is every 2 years. Contact the SFI at 858-451-8868 or Simpson at 800-654-7223. You can either send them in and get them done or buy a new set. I buy a new set every 2 years, and I just sold my old 5-point latch-style belts on Ebay for $25, and new ones are $69. Unless you have a cam-lock or expensive 5-point, I'd buy new.

.

Buy new, less stress about waiting for them to get back on time. Make sure you check tag, I've seen stuff come in that was over a year old, especially with colors.
We sell our old stuff to the roundy round & truck guys. Works out faster & cheaper.

Angry harness

just by new ,like i do. jegs or summitt RCI 5 pc harness is about 70.00. they even post date them a few months. i got mine in may two weeks ago,and it's good until july 2009. it's good two ...2....years from the date punched on the white tag......another NHRA ripoff. mine old ones are like brand new. they don't go bad in two years....maybe 5 or six...........RON

Ron,

Safety costing all of $70 every 2 years is not a ripoff IMHO. I seriously doubt the IHRA and NHRA get kickbacks from SFI for re-certs or people buying new belts. Thinking about all the 30+ year old stock lap belts in the muscle cars of the 60s-70s running slower than 11.50s and not needing the 5-points is a little scary at times though.....

Is no one running camlocks? Last I looked they're like $200 each. If a recert wasn't too much that would be a better move for me.

Because we have to buy new every 2 years I get latch locks for $70 from Jegs or Summit.

All of the Ray Family Camaros have Stroud Racing kam-lock belts in them. I just had my set recert. They cost $180.00 new and it was $58.00 with shipping to recert.

I have RCI camlock belts. I send them in every 2 years and they come back brand new (excpet for the camlock part). Only costs like $50-60 and that includes return shipping. RCI and Stroud I know are good about re-certing their belts. BS that Simpson won't...thats why I won't buy their belts.

By both belts I'm guessing you're sending the passenger belt as well? Why pay to get it done?
