Default 500 HP low 11's?

Hey guys my dad is looking into buying a '69 demon, i believe. The guy who owns it said that is has 520 some odd flywheel hp and torque, yet it only managed low 11's in the 1/4. here is what i know about the car:

340 iron block punched out to 416 ci
aftermarket alum heads
highrise intake and a "big" holley carb
reverse valve body stalled TCI 727 tranny
8-3/4 inch rear with 3.90 gears sitting on LEAF STRINGS

I personally think that this is the problem. the car is sitting on stock suspension basically and all the power is going into flexing the suspension not going to the ground therefor resulting in low eleven maybe high ten time slips. am i right? what do you think? how can you fix the problem.

What were the 60' times? Depending on the size of the stall, you can account for about 15-20% drivetrain loss to the wheels.

First of all, they didnt make Demons till 1971, just FYI.

What heads on the car and what if any work was done to them?
What stall, as asked?
What tire is it on?
As for your thoughts on stock suspension, as with many cars, your Demon can be made to haul *** on stock style suspension, but you cant do that on factory replacement shocks and 35 year old parts...trust me, I know! But on the whole theres nothing wrong with leaf springs at all, just have to know how to work with em.

Do yourself a favor and go spend some time on www.moparts.org in the race section, you'll learn a lot!

Also - lets see some pics of the car!
