Default Brake caliper hitting the spring perch.

I am so F'in pissed right now its not even funny.

The 2.5 inch chop on the 12 bolt is keeping my driver side caliper from bolting up. the bleeder is hitting the spring perch.

Any ideas on how to fix this one?

Can I safely notch the spring perch? This is also where the PHR bolts into.

What kind of brakes? Stock brake calipers move, most race brakes dont. If the calipers dont move then make some room for it.

Stock LT1 brakes for 94. I really wanted to avoid putting racing brakes on the car.
Especially since its not in the budget right now.

I went ahead and notched it. Wasn't too much so I am comfortable with it.
Only problem is I have to bleed the drivers side rear caliper off the car. PITA but I will live with it.

Getting this rear to work was alot more work than I anticipated. The wheels are on it now though and all I have to do is get some gear oil in the rear diff and then get it on the ground and drive it around the block to see if every thing clears.

I had that whole piece moved inward on mine(narrowed 3 inches per side) and shortened my panhard bar, It is not gonna hurt anything to notch it.

To check for clearance, remove the springs and jack the rear end all the way up in the car....that will tell you quick where you will have issues.

You can also flip the brackets side to side so that the calipers bolt on the back side of the axle.
