Default Could be safery issue!

Well, lately I noticed that almost every single time I try to take off, or get on the car off the roll, when car squats, I hear this knock from the bottom. I mean I can feel it like something is hitting from the bottom.
I try to think what was the last thing I did on my car.. and I think it's those new 31 inch power packs. I know that I have no hangars to hold them in the middle... Exhaust is welded to the headers and goes all the way to the axle and that's where I have 2 hangers holding it. Could it be my exhaust hitting the car from the bottom since now the mufflers are significantly heavier?

Well number 1, your car shouldn't squat. If it does, than you may have a spring or shock problem. Yes your muffler could be hitting; or your TQ or your rear-end; or your bump stops. I'll bet, if you get rid of the squat you'll get rid of your "thump".

If it didn't do it before the new exhaust, then it probley is the exhaust. Getting rid of the squat could solve 2 problems at once.

Well, it doesn't squat, I described it wrong, it's basically whenever the car takes off either dead stop or roll. I have to punch it to make it hit.
I know shock can't be the problem. I just got a set of QA1s, their fine, rear is pretty stiff as it is, so not really a "squat".
I will have to check that exhaust, I am pretty sure this is the issue. This thing could be bouncing off like that.
Thanks guys. I will look into that ASAP and post up.

lets say someone did have the problem of thier torque arm hitting when launching, what would cause this, and how would they remedy it?

usually the problem comes from having an aftermarket torque arm with a 12bolt. the area above the pumpkin towards the drivers side of the tunnel comes in contact with the top of the rear end and torque arm mount. mine did it, my buddy's did aswell its very common, just take a BFH to it and dent that area a little bit. good day.

Alright, shocks are good, pretty stiff rear as it is. It's not the exhaust either, I pressed on it as hard as I could and would not even move 1/2 inch so that's stiff as hell. Well, I guess trans mount or something with the bump stops maybe...
Will keep checking.

If you have an auto open your hood and watch or get someone to watch your engine while you hold the brake hard and give it some trottle but not hard enough to spin the tires while you have it in drive. If its the motor mounts it should make the engine turn to the side and trans mount will prolbey make the engine lean forward. If you have a manual you can do the same thing just a littlle harder to do it.

Makes sense. I have a Auto with 4400 stall so it should not be hard to do.
Thanks bud.
