SA is usualy for car type helmets, fireproof (nomex usually) inside liner and maybe a little narrower field of vision. M is motorcycle, no fireproof materials and sometimes a little larger opening.
Either M or SA is legal unless its an open bodied, supercharged and front engined car, or a funny car.
