Hey guys,

A gearhead friend of mine said to launch from a stop using 2nd gear at 5000rpm or so. He said it will help the
launch, since I spin in 1st gear.
He said it just puts "some stress" on the trans and
drivetrain.
Thoughts??????

 

In a drag race? Nuts.

Try practicing modulating the clutch and throttle, or better yet, get some tires that hold first gear better.
