My Z28 is my daily driver, but I was thinking about ditching my front bumper and its brackets for a savings of about 20 lbs. How much of a safety concern would this be? The way I understand it, these cars are made with "crush points" that provide most of it's collision absorbtion. Airbags and seat belts do most of the rest. I just can't see that block of foam really soaking up any impact at all, but maybe I'm wrong.
Note that my motorcycle has no bumpers or crush points, or even airbags or seatbelts!
