disappointing night at the track I was looking forward to running my car for the second time at the track now that I had my new clutch installed. I figured i would be able to knock .1-.2 off my et and get a sub 2.0 60ft on street tires. The opposite happened. The best 60ft i could get was 2.1 and my trap speeds were down about 1mph. The whole night i kept running 2.1-2.2 60ft's with 8.7-8.8 with my trap speed down about 1mph at 87-88. my last time at the track i was running 2.0-2.1 60's, 8.5-8.6 ets and trapping 88-89. Turns out I do a lot better with a slightly slipping clutch. With my new clutch i had a harder time getting the power down out of the hole and I was spinning a lot on my 1-2 shift and losing some traction on the 2-3 shift! I tried to ease back a little on my shifting but to no avail. I can't wait till my drag radials get here, i would be happy if i can get under 2.0 60ft!
Definately need some better tires. Drag radials should knock off .2 or so. It's pretty tough with a 6 speed getting everyting just right on the launch. I can remember when I would bog off the line...up my launch 100 rpm next time and break the tires loose.
