Default Weught reduction Q....any harm in removing these?

8...!Heat sheilding
5....Panhard rod brace, upper

Any harm in removing either of these? It looks like an easy way to lose 13lbs, but any ill effects of removing these? Anyone had them off for a while? TIA, Shawn

I had my upper panhard bar brace off for a long time but now have reinstalled it. I had my car in for a four wheel alignment and they said the rear was slightly off. I thought maybe I had bent the panhard tower so I reinstalled it brace. The bolts aligned perfectly so nothing had bent. I think all these cars rears are slightly off simply due to the lack of adjustment with factory parts and tolerances. I'll probably take it off again soon.

All my heat shielding is gone with the exception of the piece up front that covers the fuel line close to the headers. I was afraid the fuel might get too warm with that portion off.

I'd say if you have an aftermarket PHR, you shouldn't have any problems if you remove the upper. I didn't know it for a while, but mine wasn't on my car when I bought it. Realized it when I went to install the Torque Arm. It definitely doesn't ride any differently from any other F-bodies I've ever ridden in, or driven.

I wouldn't take it off. I have an adjustable BMR PHR but what if it breaks for some reason while you are driving? The rear will slide and you will lose it.

I think that the upper brace only stiffens the tab that the PHB mounts to. (It connects the bracket to the body) If your PHB breaks, you're up $hit creek either way, lol.
