What MPH should i be running?

What MPH should i be running? When the car was done with heads cam tranny swap bakc in augest of last year i was running 117 on a some slicks that were at 12 psi. No i can't cut over 114 on street tires. Is it the weather do to the hot air temp is it the tranny sliping. I am getting new tranny this week just wondering what to expect.
