Autometer speedo
I know there are plenty of guys using an autometer speedo but How did you get it to work? I have a th400 with a GM speed sensor (part # GM8655291) and I wired one wire to a ground and the other to the speed signal on the gauge. Now the odometer works but as soon as I push on the accelerator it goes all the way to 160 no matter what speed I am going. Any help would be great, I really would like to know how fast I'm going! I figured more people in this section have experience with this issue.
Thanks!
Thanks!

sounds like what i did with my 6 spd. the first thing you have to do is use a different car and map out a 2 mile trip. be as accurate as possible for the most accurate speed reading when done.
now take your car with the A/M speedo to the starting spot and shut it off.
next, hold down the button on the face for a second and then start the car while holding the button and let it go after it starts.
after the car starts, the speedo will read 80mph for a moment and then drop to 0mph.
start driving the 2 miles trip. the odometer will eventually read well over 100,000 because it's counting the pulses from the sensor.
at the finish line, push the botton and release.
now start driving and it should all be good. the only time you'll need to do this again is if you either change gears or tire size.
good luck!
