Default Removing sfc and stuff

I recentally had a roll bar install and would like to remove the sfc. I have bars running from the bottom of the main hoop to the bottom front hoop. I was thinking that now I could get rid of sfc since that bar has taken there place. Also what about the shock tower brace? I purchased that piece years ago and it seems to have traveled from car to car that i've owned. Since my car is generally a track car and has no business doing any cornering can it be removed without any lose in quarter mile performance? I'm doing this because I want my car lighter (of course) and I removed alot already and was shocked when I pulled it on the scale (3480lb w/ me (230lb)). Tia Ken

How is that??? One bar is under the floor and the other on top and they both mount just about in the same spot. When I had the 10 point installed I had extra bars put in so that in the future if I needed to go to 25.5/25.2 I would be well ahead of the game and nothing would have to be remove just added.

Not major league but not far from it. As posted before I had extra bars install for the future if I ever need to go to 25.5. Do you still think the same now?

Are you going to MIR on the 22nd for the eastern f-body event? I'll be there.

i'm just gonna say that when i have a cage put in the car i'll ask my chassis guy, but most likely i'll end up keeping them due to it being a unibody chassis and since i'll only be going with an 8pt. moly cage with dual swingouts. every car is different and i don't think it'll be too stiff with both, so i personally would leave them and take the weight out elsewhere. jmho.

edit...and yes, you do have a pretty mean cage with the bars running low connecting the front & main hoop so with that much being tied together, i'd ditch them if i had that much work. however, it is a nice easy place to jack the car up.

It's a good debate as to wether the connectors are needed or not at the point you are at... I am personally gonna cut the diamond portion of my slp's out, the outer pieces will stay. I only have a 6 pt rollbar though, but no swingouts, I wanted the side bars there for added rigidity, and it worked.

I agree once you go to a 25.5 type cage you definately don't need the frame connectors anymore, if you put the bars along the floor inside the car you probably can do away with them without any harm.
