Kooks And The Nmca At Atco With Lsx Shootout
As most of you know we sponsored the NMCA at atco for the next 3 years. What we are going to do for the local guys and gals is have a lsx, late model hemi and ford mod motor shootout.Here are the rules for the show.GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This is an index style drag racing class designed to attract a large variety of LSX Showdown vehicles.
Developed for any year of GM-bodied car or truck using a late-model LS-style power plant.
All races are on a .500 Pro Tree and in an index format.
This will be an ALL RUN qualifying format.
Vehicles are required to be stock appearing and stock bodied.
All vehicles MUST pass NHRA/IHRA safety inspection for ET and speed.
A Sportsman ladder will determine running order based off Sunday mornings qualifying round, closest to index without exceeding.
Vehicles must be driven to staging and to scales, can be towed after scales.
Vehicles are required to run GM Performance Parts Sponsor decal.
CLASS DESIGNATIONS/INDEXES:
Following the completion of Friday and Saturday’s Time Runs and Qualifying each LSX Showdown driver will be required to select an Index and officially submit it to the Event Coordinator prior to Sunday morning’s qualifying session. There will be a single qualifier Sunday morning to establish the ladder to be utilized in Sunday’s competition eliminations with a breakout factor in effect.
CLASS DESIGNATIONS/INDEXES:

Each LSX Showdown competitor will have the option to run and compete in the NMCA’S True Street category on Saturday at no additional charge. For rules and regulations pertaining to True Street please refer to the 2008 NMCA official Rule Book or log on to www.nmcadidgital.com and look under Event Series, Official Rule Book.

NMCA New Jersey Event to Host Special Late-Model Shootout
The NMCA Edelbrock Muscle Car Nationals and Kooks Custom Headers are pleased to announce that the NMCA Atco, New Jersey, event (June 6-8, 2008) will feature a special Late-Model Shootout. The Late-Model Shootout will consist of three awesome classes that will run in addition to the NMCA's normal eliminators:
• The LSX Showdown class will be open to GM-bodied, LS-powered vechiles <click here to see class rules>
• The Late-Model Hemi class will be open to Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep-bodied, late-model Hemi-powered vehicles <click here to see class rules>
• The Modular Madness class will be open to Ford-bodied, modular-powered vehicles <click here to see class rules>
These classes will have large cash payouts and will receive major media exposure. The winner of each class will have bragging rights the whole year! The following is the purse for each class: Win/$2500, R/U/$1,000, Semis/$500, Quarters/$250. Stay tuned for possible additional bonus prizes for the winners of each class. NMCA will also coordinate a winners' "Battle Royale" where the winner of each Late-Model Shootout (plus the one runner-up who came closest to winning) will take on each other at the end of the event for a very special TBA grand prize!
