1st time at track with h/c I got some new track times with my car after head cam install.
old best with lid,catback New best ,asp, ls6 intake, cheap headers,prc 2.5
5.3 heads, 228R camshaft, Running on E85, 42lb
60ft 2.01 60ft 1.96
1/8th 8.53 1/8th 7.94
mph 88-89 mph 95.49
I was pretty happy with my new times. The track was a lot stickier today than when i usually race at night. The 1st 60ft hooked good, but when i hit second gear either my clutch was slipping or my tires were spinning because the rpms just stayed above 6k and it was getting a little squirly until i would shift into third gear. My tires were hooking really well off the line I was doing 2nd gear burnouts for about 4-5 seconds. I'm sure there was a 1.8 or even 1.7 60ft if i could have done everything right. I dont know if my clutch could have handled much more punishment. I'm running the ls6 clutch for now, and it isnt going to last long! It looks like i'm in 11second range and should trap 120+ in the quarter!
