How to do a DS Safety Loop and True Duals?

Default How to do a DS Safety Loop and True Duals?

Any one have pics of there drive shaft safety loop set up? I need to copy it! I have a universal Lakewood DS safety loop and so far I have been unable to get the correct angles to make it fit with the TSP TD's. I am looking for other possibilities. Thanks.

No pics but I had a plate welded to the front of my torque arm and fixed it so the loop could bolt to it.

I have that exact setup on my car. I think the problem for most people is not the safety loop and true duals, its the safety loop and torque arm.

The Lakewood peace is made to bolt into the factory tunnel brace location, but if you have your torque arm bolted to that location you would be SOL with the Lakewood loop. I have a Stealth torque arm which mounts to the transmission support, so my ds loop fit without any problems.

You could get a bmr one, and just cut the ends and bend it so that it could be bolted up in the tunnel thru the floor, I have seen one that way before to get it out of the way for the exhaust.

There's alot of ways it can be done, I'd reccommend getting the exhaust on the car, then if you have a local chassis guy, get the car to hi and have one made, that's probably the easiest thing to do and would come out the best.

you wont be able to get TSP's to bolt on with any sort of DS loop. I built my own TD's with a lakewood setup, and the lakewood loop is by far the most exhaust friendly loop.

you can get any dual setup on any car, you will have to build a ds loop around the exhaust that's all.
