Default 5pt harness and jacket

the search function is being gay so...

I have a wolfe 6 point and im going to pick up a harness and jacket. Can anyone tell me exactly which style i need? im running the stock seats for now but will eventually end up with some corbeau's. I figure i need the individual shoulder type and bolt it lowers. im gonna go with the latch type cuz im cheap haha. Is it possible to bolt in the harness and retain the stock seat belt?

Does the wolfe crotch mount pass nhra tech? i had a tech inspector tell me the submarine belt had to be bolted directly under my ***. Dont know tho.

Im pretty sure a single layer jacket will be fine as long as it has the sfi cert, but can anyone verify this?

also on the stock 10 bolt which arp studs should i go with? 12mmx1.5? 2.5? 7/16? which style lugs should i get with weld draglites?

Thank you for the imput!

I am also cheap. LOL. I use the RCI single layer jacket and RCI 5 point harness , wrap around style. I got them from Summit Racing or Jegs.

A single layer jacket is fine for how fast you're going now and any company with an SFI will work.

Yes you could bolt in a harness and keep the stock seat belt, but why? You'll have to drill more holes and do more fabrication work and a harness is better than factory belts anyways so why would you keep or go back to the stock ones?

I would take them out and keep them in case you sale the car.

Anything Wolfe makes will pass tech if you install it correctly.

If you want to swap the axle studs you could just use a longer replacement stock size 12mm from ARP, you'll break the gears before you break the studs on that rear end.

Open lug nuts on the rear to pass tech.

To run 15" draglites you'll have to grind the rear caliper and grind the front caliper and use a small spacer if you run the fronts.

Unless you buy after market smaller drag style brakes.

I am sure they could be routed around the back of the seat, but they are not designed to work that way. Get the 5 points when you get your new seats, you're not going fast enough to require a harness yet anyways.

That's a cool setup, depends how fast you go, at some point you'll have to have the back of the seat itself attached to the cage.

As long as the harness is mounted correctly that should pass tech with the belts coming through the seat.

I really like that, gives a whole new look to the seat.

I still need to get new seats for mine, this year is is going on a 150 pound diet. dropped about 50 pounds the last two days

I put my 5pt harness in with the stock seats and just ran it around. I just got mine to the track last week since installing. I don't feel confortable with it like that. The harness wants to slide off my shoulder and I think if I wrecked it would not hold me very well.

Who ever posted that link, thank you I have been looking for that.

As for attaching the seet to the cage. I think that only applies to not OEM seats. If you have aftermarket seats you can attach them by welding or bolting I think. You can make a bracket from your seat to the cage.

You would tie it in to the crossbar on the main hoop. There are a few different designs. Basically you have a bracket or bolts running through your seat from the front to the back of the seat and a rod or bracket attaches to the cage so the seat is more secure.
