Vehicle Weight Question I was a track rental yesterday and got a chance to scale the Formula. The car itself with the big and littles on and a half tank of gas came in at 3300lbs. Is this a decent weight for the only weight reduction being the removal of both bumper supports, wiper fluid resevoir and the rear seats?
Although it is a Formula it has the heavier T/A hatch and the T/A sideskirts. The car does have power accessories and a cloth interior with manual seats.
Too bad when my fat *** gets in the weight goes up to 3580

My car was 3150, since then I have been removing weight I need to rescale it. I still have my carpet and all of my seats and full interior. I also hear the 99 up fuel tanks weigh 19 pounds less or so than 1998, that sounds like bs to me, there are a lot of weight reductions, but the actual weight seems to very, took out my front and rear bumper, both are supposed to weigh the same, but the back one is plastic looking, I will weigh them, saved the bolts too.

3800#??? that's GOT to be with a Big driver and a huge sounds system or something. when i had my '00 SS Vert, it was 3550# with big & littles and no other weight reduction. it was also a full leather interior car, power everything, spare & jack IN the car, monsoon stereo....you get the picture. then it was 3800# with me.
now my notch is 2650# and i'm down to 208 from 250, so we're getting there!
