Question Help Shifting

Hey everyone. I've never taken my 99 ss with a t56 to the track. I've actually never taken place in a drag race from a pull in a stick shift car. So... my question is... do a just dump the clutch and floor it or ride the clutch or what?? i wanna run the best time i can my first time around. in my town there is over four hundred cars at midnight mayhem. so your lucky if you make more than one pass. so any tips or advice what be a big help. Thanks!

If your going to run street tires slip the clutch other wise you will either smoke the tires if you try to launch at to high of rpm or bog launching at too low of rpm. Just be careful not to slip the clutch to aggressively so you dont end up with your clutch pedal stuck on the floor after your 1-2 powershift.....But I could be wrong because I have no idea what you are runnin for tires, suspension and how much power you are puttin out.Just remember races a lot of times are won and lost at the tree and the first 60'
