Default tire or gear question

I was at Cordova drag park sunday and Every run no matter which time or 60' on the spray was at 124 mph. Towards the end of the track I could feel the nitrous cut off at 6700 rpm (window switch and 150 wet shot) and the car would lose power. I am running a 255/50/16 m/t et street radials on stock lt1 salad shooter rims with a 4.10 gear. I really didn't want to rev above 6800 rpm on nitrous with a stock head (comp 918 springs and 224/228 cam) and stock bottom end.

Here's my question. Should i go with a different gear 3.90's, or around there, or should i go with a taller tire? How much usable rpm would i gain from a 26" - a 28"? Any help would be appreciated. thanks guys

The car should run more than 124 mph@6,700, so either the tire is shorter than 26" or the rpm is off.

Hoosier Quick Time Pro D.O.T. Tire 28.0" x 11.50" - 16"LT is the tire I would try, it will fit on your rim and give you some more hight.

I've never run this tire on a stock rim so I am not sure how much the tire has clearance.

It is hard to say how much more mph you'll be able to run it depends on how much the tire grows, but you should run a few hundred less rpm with the taller tire, so I would say from looking at the calculator you should have 7-10 more mph capability at the same rpm.

The hoosier QTP dot in my opinion is better for a manual car.

Do you think that would be a better choice than a gear change?

a cheaper option, gears plus install will be more than 2 new tires.

Plus I think it will leave harder on a 28" hoosier QTP dot with a manual on the nitrous.
