TH400 overkill?
Btw, gas mileage, drivability, etc. doesn't matter.
The 4l60e has more mass so it'll rob more power.
The TH350 is lighter.
The 4l60e has an overdrive.
If it is a dedicated car you want to race and cruise on the street I'd go with the TH350, if you plan to drive it often I would upgrade the 4l60e.
If it is a dedicated race car all out I would run a TH400 or Power glide if you start wanting to go over the 600-700 hp range.
Other things to consider will you have to change the length of your drive shaft, relocated the torque arm mount?
I think it depends on the weight of the car and converter, I think a heavy car with less converter will go faster with the 4l60e, some gear and converter and a car that is in the low 3000 range will go faster with a th350.
