Default Before I go to Summit...

I'm going to drive to Summit Racing this weekend, I just wanted to make sure I'm picking up the right tires

I'm going to buy 15x 3.5 and 15x 10 Bogarts in the spring, so these are the tires I was going to put on there...let me know if it looks right

ET Street, LT 28 x 11.5-15, Bias-Ply, Blackwall

ET Front Drag, 26 x 4.5-15, Bias-Ply, Tubeless, Outlined White Letters on Both Sides

Are the ET Front Drag tires street legal? I didn't see any tread on them lol

ok, thanks guys!

Are the sizes correct? I noticed that the tire size was SLIGHTLY larger than than the actual wheel size. But that must be common.

Front tire size is correct. The rear is up to you to run what you want depending on your set up.

You know the rear tire has a tread thats less than 9" wide right?

I don't know how big of a tire you can fit or want to fit, but the ET Street tire doesn't measure like a slick, slicks are hight x tread width, ET Street are hight x section width.

If you can fit it I would think about the 28x12.5 ET street it has a 10" tread which will be a little better hooking on the street.

The 28x11.5 ET STreets tread is only like a hair over 8.5" if I remember right.

I have a 15x8 right now, that's why I am going with the 29x11.5 Hoosier QTP DOT, it has a 10" tread. Until I get my 15x12"s then I'll run the 30x13.5.

A bigger tire will most likely slow you down at the track, but if you're street racing or mostly want better street performance, the bigger tire will work better on the street.

I was told by a few guys on the board the 28" will be better for me at the track? 3:90 gears, 5000+RPM clutch dumps with 150 shot out of the hole

I need something that will hook....so are ET Streets not the ticket?

I need something "street legal" though, running those Bogarts?

I bought a fender roller, and figured i would also have to do the BFH method to the inner fender

So what should I do?

ET Streets work much better on my M6 car than any of the three different drag radials I've used.

ET streets and Hoosier QTP DOT are both good for stick cars, I was just saying a 8.5 tread seems a little small when you should be able to easily fit something that is 28" with a 10" tread.

I would look at the ET STREET 28x12.5 or Hoosier QTP DOT 28x11.5

Both have a 10" tread and should fit. Main thing will be getting the right offset rim, 1/4" one way or another can make a huge difference.

I think bogarts will do offsets every 1/8th" and 12.5 is about the same as a 28x10.5 slick.

so, I can still use a 15 x 10" Bogart? Just adjust the offset? (I'm assuming this isn't a big extra charge...)

so will these tires fit? I see your running 11.5"

Not that I don't trust you, its just your the first to suggest a wider tire.

Can't compare my car with yours, mine has a full tub, but I am sure there are a few people running 28x10 slicks without mini tubs, they'd have the best idea on offset with whatever the rear end width they are running is.

Is your rear end stock width?

Personally I wouldn't run the bogarts on the street much, they are a race rim, and one good pothole and you'll be regreting putting them on.

For the track, they are my first and only choice, and SJM's service is top notch.

For the track, if your car is under 3400 lbs I'd run the et front size you have listed and a 28x10.5S, part # 3055S from m/t on the rear. They are a great tire and will hook with yoru plans, but if you have a heavier car then run the 4 ply sportsman fronts, because that et front tire will roll right over if the car ever gets out of shape and is too heavy, seriously not safe. If you are planning on street driving the car the sportsman front is a must. The et street will work on the street, but like mentioned above they do measure a little different, and at the track they won't work as good IMO as a et drag does, at least that's what I've found from my own personal experience.

she doesn't get driven much...period, so I might keep the skinnies on, I'm not sure yet

my car is a hog, she's full weight and then some probably, so I'll run the Sportmans upfront

so is the 10.5 wide enough meat? probably ~550rwhp off the line, thats it for awhile

I was going to get the ET Streets from Summit Saturday morning, so let me know

Thanks guys!

I would love to run the 12.5" but I am doubting they will fit

28x10.5? People have gone pretty fast and with 2x as much power as you'll be putting down.

I've personally have seen quiet a few 8 sec passes on a 28x10.5

I don't think you under stood what I said about the ET STREETS, a 28x12.5 ET STREET is the about same size as a 28x10.5 slick.

If it is a drag only tire run a true slick, if you're gonna street drive it I would get the ET Street or Hoosier QTP DOT.

Like JL said the 28x10.5S is a good tire S means stiff sidewall which works good on stick cars.

First outing with the nitrous on my car I was making somewhere around 700 rwhp, with a converter that goes to 5400 on the brake. They got me into the 1.3x 60 foot times still spinning a touch, but for the first outing with the nitrous on I wasn't surprised the suspension was a touch off. I have seen cars with 1000rwhp dead hook on these tires, and believe me they're leaving with all of it right off the bat.

OOOHHHH

Sorry guys, I got all confused, I was tired. I'm glad to see the ET Streets will work just fine.

Does anybody know the Summit Part Number for the 28x10.5S?

I would have figured I would need a softer sidewall.

Thanks guys!!
