Question Good tire for poorly prepped track??

The track we normally go to does zero line prep. I have fought this in both of my cars. For the Camaro does anybody have a recommendation for a 16 inch tire that could help me out? My best 60 foot was 1.73 on my first trip out with the 27's. On the 12.35 run I had a 1.87. It runs consistent 1.9x 60 ft. times. I was thinking of trying a 28 but am unsure of which to go with. Mods and best time in sig.

A bias ply is going to be more forgiving than a radial. That is my experience. If you can hook a radial, then it "should" be faster.

So what size 28 x XX x 16 would give me a decent contact patch and fit without butchering the car? Would you try the hoosier at 28x10x16 with a 12 inch section and 10 inch tread or the MT 28x11.5x16 with a 10.7 section and only a 8.7 tread. OR try another set of 27's?

What rpm do you come out of the hole at?

Do you have adjustable shocks?

No adjustable shocks. Do have bags though. I vary the launch rpm to how the track feels. I am not scared of high rpm launches and have tried a few. Normal at this track will be 3000-4000. Lower will bog, in that range or higher will spin - usually badly.
