Looking for ideas on next project Well, I'm really debating over whether or not to keep my Camaro or sell it and start a new project. My main problem is the emissions testing in my area (sniffer and visual required on OBD-I vehicles). I really want to have a sub 7 sec (1/8 mile) street car/truck that is pre-1984 that I can pick up for under $2k, and build a SBC on the bottle for. Any suggestions??
How about a 3rd gen camaro? you can get a pre-1984 and use whatever front skin you like the look of best. They are pretty cheap these days and use the same suspension stuff so you'll be familiar and know what to do with it chassis wise.
Lucky for you anything here after 1973 or 1974 has to get smogged in cali.
