Default 25.5 Help

I have Wolfe weld in subframe connectors. I'm trying to make it 25.5 legal. I was wondering what some of you have done under the car. Can the connectors replace the 2 bars that run along the trans tunnel, or do I need to add them also. Any suggestions or pics would help.

Thanks Fireball. I have followed your build up. That car is awesome. It looks like on your car, the SFCs would be your outside bar, and you added the inside bar, but what about the diagonal? The reason I am asking is because I have a great chassis builder, but he has never done a 25.5 f-body. He called SFI, but they could"nt really interpret their own rules. They told him to call NHRA. They told him to call the division tech guy, and he couldn't tell him what would pass.

To the best of my knowledge, some of the underfloor bars are not 100% required when the car retains the factory floor pans and door frame. I have the 25.5 book around here at the house somewhere, just gotta find it and I can verify for you.

there is alot of interpretation in the 25.5 spec...our inspector absolutely hates it...

We added rocker bars in addition to the tranny bars...they don't show up great in most of the pics...but they are there...run along the bottom of the door jamb.

as far as the under car diagonals...as long as the car is a unibody and inner bars (Bars 2A) are welded to the floor then it doesn't require the outer diagonals of the inner "X" bars (spec didn't stipulate how much welded...we only welded where it passed thru the floor). Regardless, it needs the bottom seat support (butt bar as my inspector called it...he said alot of unibody cars didn't have them at first and he would fail them)

keep in mind...my "bar 1" (the foundation for the whole cage) runs inside the car....thats why my tranny bars have to come inside like they do...
