A grumpy sometimes angry old man and his dog - Jake Usually this is caused by the instant center being too aggressive for the track, or someone added a bunch of power and didn't adjust for it properly, or they like to put on a show.
If you can get the car to leave with all 4 on the ground, it would be the fastest way since no motion is being wasted by lifting the nose, but usually you have to get the front tires off a little for traction reasons.

A happy young man and his dog - Luka It you want to avoid wheel stands the instant center, shock settings and front end travel limiting are the basic ways to stop it from happening. You can also add weight to the front.
Wheelie bars obviously help, but you can also play with tire pressure to have a little more tire spin.
Although you don't have to hook dead up to pull the tires, I had videos of my old car pulling the tires and you can hear and see the back tires spinning when it took off on the nitrous even though it had the tires a foot and a half off the ground.
