Default Balance Drag Tires?

OK, I've tried three times now to balance my hoosier quick time pros and I cannot get consistant readings on our tire balancer. I'm about to give up!!!

Who here actually balances drag tires???
I really dont use them on the street much so I'm assuming that I don't need to balance them.....

Thanks,
Conrad

I always balance my drag tires.

I have them(tire shop) use stick on weights and then use duck tape to hold them in place(extra protection from flying off).

Good luck.

Yes, I have them balanced at 10 to 12 pounds.

Thats the way we balance the drag tires at work. We use tape weights and then put tape over them.

Sticking and Duct tape are the preferred approach. If you scrub the weights off as many of us have had happed you can go to tap on weights on the inside of the rims with reasonable success.

Many shops will balance at a target weight of 20lbs even though you may race at 15lbs or less.
