needing help to know the best way to launch a 6spd
sup guys i was to the track a few months back and.. with it being the first time i went back to the track with nitto dr'. and headers/ypipe.
i ran a few 12'9's @110mph with a 1.90 60ft i was taking it easy on the 10bolt only launching @ 2800 rpm's and the car whoud just fall on its face.
then pick right back up.. i know i shoud launch harder but how much more.. and shoud it be a dump.. or shoud it be sliping the clutch..
need some help on this one..

It's very hard to find the sweet spot with stock gearing. Try slipping the clutch at a higher rpm, maybe 3200. You will just have to play with it becuase every car and track is different.
Other than that get a real rear end and some real tires and leave nuts out!

with my dd, i took it to the track and first time out on 245 street tires and 4.10 gears, about 2600rpm and slip the clutch got me a 2.0 60' only other mods were a lid and exhaust. im my experience, nittos are worth a ****. if you want decent 60's get a m/t tire. even from rolls with my auto the 315 nittos will spin so fast you can hear them, its only when your speedo says 80mph when your getting passed by a honda you say wtf

Put a 12bolt or 9" in there and a good clutch then dump the clutch wherever you want.
So many folks add the power but it means nothing when it can't work for ya. It is just putting a car together backwards by adding power first. I LOVE picking on those more powerful cars that are not correctly built.

Dump at 3200-3500 and no more than that. That will get you 60ft down into the 1.8 but it can still break. Just a better chance of it making it.I have cut a 1.79 60ft on nittos almost bone stock except for 3.73 gears and a cut out.
