Since you have a good rear get some M/T DR's and dump the clutch at 4000rpms if it bogs rev it higher.

Dude you got a 9 inch. Get some ET Streets. I launch on my 12 bolt and ET Streets a lil over 6,000. Line lock and 2nd gear burn outs help also.

leave at 5 or 5.5 thers no way w/ your setup you should be running 2.5s

start around 3 or 3.5 and go up from there

you should be hitting 1.6s easy

Done it! LOL Many times.

Honestly its impossible to say where you should launch. Track, suspension, tires, powerband will all influence your launch RPM.

I have launched as high as 7200, and and "low" as 5500 with the same suspension and tire, the difference was the air temp, and track/traction conditions.

Also, I do not recommend dumping the clutch, thats how parts brake, personally I slip the clutch very quickly, this lessens the shocks to the driveline as well as allows your RPM to stay up preventing a bog.

I have noticed that if I dump the clutch at 7000rpm with good track prep I can bog, but if I slip the clutch at 6000 or 6500 on the next pass I will come out of the hole smoothly and pull a good 60'

good luck!

Exactly. Honestly, if my car was still a stick, I'd have put a mcloud housing on it, and probably a spec dual disk, and would be leaving at about 7600

I found a nice spot between 3500 - 4000 with my last 6 speed but I was afraid to go much higher since I didn't know what clutch was in the car since I never replaced it. Any lower than 3000-3500 it would bog really bad.

8000 rpm and side step it....see sig. 1.37 60'

FWIW with your combo and a good clutch, I'd shoot for atleast 6500. Also since you have the good parts DO NOT SLIP THE CLUTCH. All that does is cook the clutch and kill ET.

I always had my best luck dumping at 5500. You want your true launch RPM to be at or really close to 5250. This gives you max TQ off the line, and HP carries you through the 60. When you launch at a lower RPM you are spending time building up to peak torque.

I cut 1.42 60's on motor,m6 car. I run M&H Racemaster cheeter slicks www.intercotire.com 26x11.5x15 they hook like glue and for me out hook m/t tires on low quality tracks(hell on any track). Start at 4,500prm's and add 500rpm's ti'll you find where you need to be. I luanch at 6,500rpm's with my shocks at #2 front and #6 in rear. It helps if you get a 2-step to luanch off.It makes the stage and dump and go ssooooo much easier at the track and streets. Goodluck to ya.
