I drive through the water box, do the burnout on the damp spot, then roll out with the tires spinning, needless to say I've never had a traction issue.

Everyone backs into the box there...
You forgot to mention, that's the only way to get into the water box at Byron. Maybe they made it that way for a reason.

Thats dumb that you HAVE to drive through the water at some tracks though becuase what if theres people that for some reason dont wanna do a burnout? Like if its there first time and there just getting the feel for things.
When GLD is prepped nice I dont have a problem but sometimes they dont prep very well if they even prep it at all and thats when I get made about people dragging water up to the line.

A lot of drivers are new and don't know any better. It's not like they have a class to tell you what to do and what is expected before you can race. They should really do something like that.

IMO, if you don't have a DR or slick on the back, you should not be allowed to run. The water box is the least of your problems.

I was gonna go there Matt, but I figured I'd be nice.

But at the end of the day, that's pretty much the truth. Unless you're trying to run a 150 hp shitpile (in that case again, why bother) you'll overpower any regular street tire.

this just makes me wanna buy skinnies so i can roll right thru the waterbox..... i have never driven thru the waterbox, i always have driven around it and backed into it... and i have never taken a pass on street tires.... i bought my et street radials before my first pass ever and thats all i use...

oh and while we are on the subject of track etiquette i hate when people ignore the pre stage common rule.... or u will prestage and it will take the other guy 30 min to prestage..... and u sit there while ur tires cool down and it screws up ur routine.... I HATE THAT!
