Car Pops @ 5000 in 2nd gear

Car Pops @ 5000 in 2nd gear Everytime I go racing my car pops over 5k rpms in 2nd gear. I have backed the shift points down to 5800 & 80 mph. Still pops. It doesn't pop in 1st gear and the shifts points are set higher.
I'm thinking maybe it's running out of fuel. Maybe the fuel pump isn't keeping up. But the motor is stock. I have dynoed around 425 hp at the crank. But the stock pump should handle that, yes?
Anyway, I turned a 13.08 @ 106.6, adn my goal is to get into the 12's with a stock motor, no headers, stock gears & stall converter, and full dress (interior, AC, etc) Thoughts anyone?
