Default Trap speeds seem low compared to others

I ran at Byron Dragway in IL this last weekend and the best trap speed I posted was 100 (see sig).Seems most other LS1 powered F cars are way over that bone stock.

I have a stock(other than wear items) A4 98 TA with Yokohama AV's 245/16 all around.T 13.91@100 was with the engine at about 200 degrees.Don't know my tire pressures(no gauge). It was mid 80's with high humidity.

Any Ideas? I am not the best at launching this car to say the least.

you 60' could be better but it's not horrible. track times, especially mph, really suffer during the summer. most people run their fast times once it starts getting nice and cold out. also, 98's seem to trap the lowest of all the years. however, i wouldn't be suprised to see you run 104-105 with some really good weather (in the 40's with low humidity).

Now u should get ur self a LID, Loud Mouth, and TC and u will be in the low 13's trapping 104-106mph or so. I gained 33rwhp 24rwtq with a LID and LM only and gained 3 mph in the 1/4mile. I also dropped from 13.4 stock to 13.0 after these two cheap mods($400 in total).

Do you know why the 98's trap lower? Is it the exhaust manifolds, injectors,PCM?? I can't think of all of the differences between the 98 and 99 off hand.

thanks for the replies .It's pretty cool to be able to get some good answers back so fast.

I know that the 98-00 are slower than 01-02 LS1 due to the LS6 intake manifold. Other than that i dont see a difference between the 98-00, maybe the cam is slight different from 98-99. As a matter a fact GM changed the cam every year for the LS1's.
