Default what is the date requirement for window net???

Does the window net have the same 2 year re-webbing inspection that harnesses require????

Mine has a production date on it but i've never read about getting your window net rewebbed on a 2 year interval....

No expiration on window nets. Got that straight from the NHRA inspector when he did my chassis cert.

IHRA rule book says every 2 years window net's expire. I just bought a new 18" X 24" stroud for like $40.

SFI says 2 years on MESH nets (27.1), not sure if that implies ribbon nets dont expire as of now or not.

Honestly, if the window net isn't torn, and doesnt' look like it's been on fire, torn, or whatever why would you need to replace it? Now that I have one I can't see this ever really wearing out.

True, but IMO the belt requirments are overkill too. That's the belt manufacturer's and NHRA in bed together is what that is, and I'm sure it is the same with the window nets.

Belts should be inspected every time you go to the track by the safety tech, but replacing them every 2 years is total overkill. I can see it if the belt is frayed or damaged, but to replace them just to replace them is senseless. I went to the track about 20 times with my car, the belts expire this november, and honestly they're like new. Do they need to be replaced? only for the tech guy, because I wouldn't even think about replacing them if it were up to me.

Granted, there's guys that would run a tattered and torn belt and not replace it, which is wrong, but to replace a belt that's praticially brand new? That's senseless.

nobody said you had to replace them...the manufacturer has to reinspect them to make sure they still conform to the applicable SFI specifications every 2 years...

its not the manufacturers...its the SFI rules.

27.1 for nets...2 year recert

Yeah, I know I can send them in for reinspection.

I had originally bought 2 sets of belts because I thought I might have a passenger in the car someday when I still drove it on the street... now that I'm done with that the other belt is out.

I'm gonna try to send it in this winter and get it re-certed, not sure if Simpson will do it or not, if they do great, save me the $ of buying another set.

Then I'll send the ones that are in the car in when those are done, just swap them back and forth.

Guess I'll do the same with the net too, seeing as it was made by stroud specificially for my car.

What's the deal with fire suit's, how often do they have to be reinspected, or do you just chuck it and buy a new one?

according to SFI

3.2/1 3.2/3 and 3.2/5 don't have reinspection windows.

3.2/10 and higher have a 5 year window.

I'll have to look at what I bought, see what the #'s are I don't know of the top of my head.

I know the bandit helmet I just bought is good until 2017, I also have a nomex headsock, 3 layer pants, 3 layer coat, gloves and shoes all made by g-force.

I wanted a full matching set, I just didn't like the gforce helmet. Oh well,at least it's all the same color (black) I couldn't see getting any other color, it would look too dirty too fast.

That's good, so as long as I don't gain too much weight, I should be good with this stuff for a long time, unless something bad happens, or I actually wear the stuff out.
