Lightbulb Question about removing accessories

I have a question about removing accessories. Right now I have everything...A/C, power steering, stock water pump. I see alot of "race" cars that basically don't run any accessories. Say I go to a manual steering rack, electric water pump, and take off the A/C and anything else I can live without, how much total hp do you think I'll gain from removing all this stuff? Is it worth it?

You will gain a few HP, drop a lot of weight, and ease of access to everything is great. The #8 plug is one of the easiest now.

I've seen over 3 tenths on a stock car from bypassing the power steering and using an electric water pump, ditching the a/c, all the heater stuff and condenser will net you a pretty good gain.

It just depends on how serious you want to get with it. You will gain a couple tenths from the weight loss, and the short belt. Those water pumps are damned expensive though.
