track results for my new setup
12:1 half filled 383 LT1, 4 bolt mains, AFR 227's, single plane, accufab TB, dual 4" spintech exhaust, 3.89 gears, 9", TH400 with 4300 stall converter... etc, etc, etc... the car is all motor right now and is geared for nitrous and has a nitrous cam (114.5 LSA) so i'm giving up a good bit of power/gear for later on.. but last night it didn't really show it!
i'll have video and some pics from last night that i'll post in this thread later but here's the results.
Best pass of the night was a 10.62@126 on a 1.52 60'..... Best MPH of the night was 128.2 on a pass where we spun the tires pretty bad out of the hole.... We made 5 passes all of which were in the 10's except for the one i mentioned above which was 11.1.....
Car went straight as an arrow and only spun the tires once and bogged more than it spun. The best pass happened when it hooked like a ****, hung the hoops about a foot and a half and straight got busy down the track...
BIG THANKS to Madman for his suspension settings and advice on what we should do. He definitely called it cause he told me that his settings would probably bog the car and that's exactly what it did 3 out of 5 passes....
Also thanks to Tony Shepherd for your never ending support during the build of the car. Thanks for saving me thousands of dollars NOT buying stuff that didn't work on your car...
I really didn't care less about the motor bogging cuz it shows me the tires and suspension and doing what they are supposed to do and I don't have enough gear/torque to spin em on motor..... Either way for the first night at the track to run a 10.62 on motor i'm VERY happy. We are going to put the plate on the car (Nitrous Pro Flow) and run a single unit 150 shot at first and then step it up to the 200 and 250 if things are going well and we don't run out of pump (going to run the system dry thru the XFI)... If I run out of pump then i'll put a 2025 weldon on it and 160lb injectors.... should solve that problem...

Careful though, if it did hang the tires a foot in the air n/a, better tighten that front end up some , or start off with the smallest hit you can, last thing you want to do is put the car on the bumper after all that $ and time/work.
yeah me and Theo (the guy who did the scaling) talked about the car on a few units and we both agree that coming out on 1 stage of 250hp or more will be a bad idea. The suspension settings that are on the car now caused the car to bog more than it spun (1 pass was a spin but it was more of a burnout issue than anything I did)...
I know once I put a unit on the car I have two choices
1. Wheelie bars
2. Travel limiters...
either way i'll be calling madman...

If you have the $ and there's no rules against the wheelie bars for whatever racing you want to do, I'd do both.

Gotta love the LTx! VERY nice times.
I am heading to the track Wed

BTW Be VERY carefull with the dry. Make SURE you WB that bitch and go in baby steps

I melted a plug and a head gasket getting mine in and it was wet
Adding a controler(I am using FJO) REALY made a huge differeance in the spike.Get us some numbers for us!
and yeah ellis i'm going to be super careful going dry but honestly with XFI and the guy who does my tuning he says it is the ONLY way to go. As long as you're running a strong enough pump and a big enough injector to support how much total power you're going to run you'll be ok.....
Dry thru the XFI versus the old 5176 dry kit that NOS used to sell is TOTALLY different... the old 5176 just spiked fuel pressure to the stratosphere.... XFI just increases pulse width to provide the optimum fuel to support how many lb/hr of fuel the engine is consuming..... and Theo from Wizard Racing that set up my tune and is working on my nitrous .gct files now is a friggin genius when he comes to that stuff..... his tunes are VERY safe and don't hurt motors...... i'm getting ready to buy the internal datalogger from him so i can log all my runs.....
