On/Off Switch.. How to keep the computer hot 24/7??
If you have an on/off switch or battery disconnect switch on your car does that not "RESET" the computer every time you turn it off?? I would assume this does the same thing as disconnecting the battery terminals to reset the computer right?? If I am correct and I think that I am does this not hurt the performance somewhat? I know from prior experience that it takes these pcms a little time to learn and figure out whats going on especially with a custom tune.. I know you don't lose the tune or anything like that I just think that it takes the computer a little while to get back in sync for lack of a better word..
So.. If you have a race car and you go to the track you turn the power on and go race. If that computer was just "Reset" then you could possibly be taking a risk everytime you do that? Say you have a nitrous motor and a nitrous tune then you "reset" the computer and go out there and spray a 300 shot on it and the computer is still trying to get everything straight after it was "reset".. You can't be getting the best results can you??
I'm assuming that I would need to run a hot wire from the battery itself to the computer in order to fix this.. Or is this pointless and I'm just over thinking this.. lol What do you guys think???
wont most tunes stay in the computer anyway? i know i have no problems with my tune when i have the battery out of the car and put it back in?
Plus hopefully if someone does hit the kill switch, you are on your lid with all sorts of other **** to worry about. Well not hopefully
