Default Will an LS1 run without an alternator?

Tried searching and cant find anything. I dont plan on running my car that way all the time but I had to take it off to do my truck manifold turbo setup which is still in the early stages. I tried cranking it after charging the battery all day and it will turn over, I smell gas but it wont start.

Right now I have the 4 guage alt wire taped up with electrical tape and the small wire just unplugged and no belt on the motor. I also just installed new low impedance injectors, flashed my VCM to a 3bar map OS with HP tuners, & a harlan 2 step. Thought maybe the 2 step could be bad so I unplugged it and bypassed it and it still wont run. Thought I may have unplugged the crank sensor when I swapped the K member so I checked it but its plugged up.

Now I'm thinking the alternator may have to be at least plugged up and grounded for it to run, tried plugging it up but I didnt have anyrhing to ground the alternator chassis with. Anyway just wanted to see If I was anywhere close. Maybe it could be that I have a 1 bar map sensor on a 3bar operating system?.............Idont know.

The alt will not prevent it from cranking. My bet would be to look at the tune. Did you scale your IFR table for the new injectors?

Thanks. Yes I did scale the new injectors using the excel spreadsheet. Here's what I entered for the flow rate.

Flow 8.30873 8.37073 8.43274 8.43274 8.49474 8.55675 8.61875 8.68076 8.74277 8.74277 8.80477 8.86678 8.92878 8.92878 8.99079 9.05279 9.11480

Honestly I think its way rich because the first time you turn it over it pops once but after that it wont pop again until you wait overnight and try again. The whole time it smells pretty strong of raw gas. I am lost.

Are you running the low impedance injectors with a converter box? That's the first thing that jumped out at me, the stock PCM will not drive low impedance injectors. Just a thought.

Yeah I'm running an Acceleronics Versafueler, I had the injectors scaled wrong. HPTuners lists the definition of the flow rate table in g/sec and then over to the right it says the min and max's were in lb/hr. From reading the definition I assumed the table was in g/sec and pasted those values from my excel spread sheet to the table. Basicly the car thought it had 8# injectors.

Here's a pic of the tabel & definition, HPT said it wasnt a typo but that the g/sec text should be taken out of the definition.
