My new Burkhart 9" housing arrived today, I have 2 words to describe it.....
Bad Ass!

Heres a few quick pics I took, My wife made me come in the house cause the tornado seirens were going off!

Fast_94_Z 07-02-2008 08:51 PM

nice ill be getting one shortly for my 94 turbo build!

scott94z 07-02-2008 09:03 PM

Thanks,
I did alot of looking around and this is hands down the best one.
It looks so nice, Its a shame to have bolt it under the car. I have not weighed it but, it seems pretty light.

I have to add that Chuck is very helpful and answered every question that I had. I Look forward to doing more buisness in the future.

firehawk123 07-03-2008 01:35 AM

nice looking rear end .

MADMAN 07-03-2008 06:04 AM

The only Race oriented rear end I sell.

1QuickT-A 07-03-2008 08:04 AM

Wow! That thing looks killer!

1SlowFormula 07-03-2008 11:18 AM

your right bad ass...

so I only have one question, is there at least a gusset under the shock mount tab or is it just welded at the tube? it looks like there is a 1" or so heat mark from a gusset or something welded to the back side of that plate, but I don't see anything on the other side in any of the other pics...

MADMAN 07-03-2008 11:44 AM

Yes the shock mount tabs are gusseted.

Steve Burger 07-03-2008 01:21 PM

Thanks Scott. We have these on special righ now as well.

GMMillwright 07-03-2008 01:39 PM

Very nice. Would you say the price is comparable to the other "FAB 9" unit that's popular on the board?

RAGENZ28 07-03-2008 01:41 PM

Very nice Scott, hopefully it serves you well for many years and you haul ass on that thing :thumb:

Its comparable in that this unit is 100% TIG welded. It also takes a "Stock Style" torque arm which is required for stock suspension classes.

Big Mike 07-03-2008 03:15 PM

It's like looking at quality porn!

Looks awesome!

scott94z 07-03-2008 06:04 PM

Wow guys, thanks!
My car has been sitting so long that I will settle not nothing less than the best stuff on this build.
With any luck, my goal is to say I'm "one of the fastest" when its compleated.

Thanks again to Madman and Burkhart becouse your makeing my dream come true.

Zger 07-03-2008 10:24 PM

I'm thinking about buying one of these myself. I think this is the only fabricated 9" housing that retains the stock style torque arm, which is a big advantage to some folks.

Fast_94_Z 07-04-2008 12:50 AM

yep. burkhart also makes an awesome torque arm that will put up with all that stress.

Steve Burger 07-04-2008 08:50 AM

We are very comparable on price. Many of the standard features of our housing are options on others.

One area we are not comparable is track record. Ours is the ONLY fabricated housing sold on this site that has survived in the 7's over and over. Look under a lot of the drag radial cars in Memphis this year.

So I guess once you get past price, there is not much of a comparison.

Yea, that sounds right.....
only the fastest cars run the Burkhart 9" ....period.

I've built alot of 4th gen cars for people over the years, and I have to say in order to really go fast ....and do it over and over again without breaking stuff, EVERY part of the car needs to be of the highest quaility.
Theres no better feeling than doing somthing right the first time, becouse doing it again can cost more in the long run. And could be dangerous.

onfire 07-04-2008 01:18 PM

Chuck built mine last year and it's still oem quiet after 1.3x launches...great diff.

AxisOfOil 07-04-2008 01:51 PM

What's the price range on one of those?
