I called the NHRA national hdqtrs and left a message. Eric called me back, and stated they are NOT changing the rule.

Credentials please? Dont know anything bout you McRat and not wanting to offend you or anything, but Madman, the original poster of the Bad News for T's, and Paul from TR claim to have talked to "people" as well and theres different stories, as well sooo many different claims on all this.
Vette seems to think the idea is ok, good for him. But do you really think that flipping a hardtop running 10.01 has the same chance of damage as a T-Top running 11.01? Thats the deal. As the new rule would have it, they both would be similarly equiped, 5pt rollbar, harness, jacket, and helmet....I would think the damages would be a little more severe on the Hardtop at the faster ET, generally meaning a faster trap, no always.
How about we get VFN or someone to make a CF layover applique. Like those fake-*** dash appliques, wash the tops, rub with alcohol, peel the backing off and stick it on...make it look like a hardtop!

No offense to Madman, but he's not a heavy hitter in the NHRA world so he has about as much pull as the rest of us peon's. It would be different if John Force protested.
