Default need some help

Just got the deal of a lifetime, found these rims and tires brand new never even mounted on a car for 1500.00. They were local so no shipping and I even got a reciept with em showing 675.00 each rear rim + 410.00 more per rear rim to make them 18x12. The fronts are 17x8 and they cost 565.00 each and then they are shoud in the new hoosier R street legal slicks, 335/30/18 rear and 245/40/18s front, never used, the dam sticker is still on em, the fronts are 280.00 each tire and he paid 415.00 each rear. The rims are lightweight 18 pounds front, 24 pounds rear, 3 piece forged billet polished aluminum. They are killer the fronts fit perfect but the rears are 5 and half backspacing an so they stick out about 1 and half too 2 inches. I dont want to mini tub it but would just narrowing the rear 2 inches on each side be ok?????

On a 12" wide wheel on stock length axles you need 9" BS. So if you have 5.5" BS now, you'd have to take the difference on the axle... 3.5" narrowed each side. You should be able to clearance the stock tubs to fit this wheel. I run 325/50/15 MT DR's on my car and they have a 13" section width on a 10" wide wheel, so that math says that if you narrowed your axle 3.5" on each side these wheels you bought should bolt up with some minor massaging of the wheel tub and rolling the fender lip.

Good deal, by the way, on those wheels
