new 402 hey guys
i only have 1/8 mile by the house and with my old combo cam and bolt ons(stock long block) using a 4200 fuddle stalland 3.42 gears,full weight, i ran a 7.5@95mph.
i have just purchased a HKE 402 short block going to use all pro heads should be around 11.5.1 compression, i have a t-rex cam but undecided to use it yet.
i have a buddy that is saying the car will barely be any faster with just swopping the motor
i am going to use a 200 shot on it but id like to run 6.8's or so N/A and maybe low 6's on about 150/200 shot. i also installed 3.73's in the rear. dont know if that going to help much coming ftom 3.42's..the car was hooking OK with the old combo 1.59 60's
give me your input and what cam do some of you faster 402 guys have?

I ran 6.8 at 98 mph in the 1/8 last year with a Yank PT4000 and a 244/250 cam. Compression was at 11.1. I can't say how well the Trex will work in a 402, but you should consider a custom cam. Mike at Rapid Motorsports has done numerous cams for the 402 and knows what works. Give him a call.
